Hello! My name is Emily Washburn and I teach high school art. I received my undergraduate degree from Western Illinois University with a B.A. in Art Education May, 2009. I graduated through the honors program and was chosen as the 2009 Fine Arts Department Scholar. My amazing professors in the Art Department at Western showed me what it means to be a strong teacher and leader. I accepted my first teaching position at New Berlin High School in 2009 where I worked for eight years. I completed my masters degree in Art Education through Eastern Illinois University in 2016. In 2017 I joined the fantastic Art Department at Mehlville High School where I currently teach 2D Foundations, Painting One, Painting Two, Photography One and Illustration.
I enjoy reading, painting, sculpting, traveling, and being outside.
